Congratulations to the Enactus IADT team on a very impressive presentation at the national finals on May 25. Enactus is a global organisation which seeks to encourage third level students to work with companies to help others through entrepreneurial action. The team of 17 students put thousands of hours into two projects since September 2017. 'Mind Your Media' is a module to make transition year students more aware of the impact of their online activity on their future employability. '3DB' seeks to harness the use of 3D printers to improve the productivity of bee-keepers in Africa. The team of business advisers, including Joe Madigan(Bank of Ireland), Louise O'Brien(KPMG), Claire Gannon(Cartrawler), Brian Hanratty(KPMG) and Donncha Keogh (New Ireland Assurance), supported the students throughout the year. Their expert advice and support is much appreciated. Ciaran McCormack (IADT graduate and Compu b) gave the team a master class in how to present. The amazing presentation team was Claire Ann Ferry, Stella Pete, Conor Nolan, Iraldina De Oliveira (technical), Alice Margetson (logistics), Dominika Kowalska (social media), Miriam Conlon (blogging) and researchers Margaret Martin-Carroll, Iseult Ward, Peter Corish, Lauren-anne Smith and Kieran O'Neill. Congratulations to Margaret Martin-Carroll and Iseult Ward on winning the KPMG Student Bursary Awards to go to the Enactus World Final in Toronto. The faculty support team was very capably led by Niamh Gallagher with assistance from Therese Moylan and Conor Heagney. The above IADT projects will continue and hopefully impact on people's lives.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this outstanding competition.
