“It is always with a tinge of sadness that I say goodbye to you all at this time of year. During your time here you become part of the fabric of the day to day life of the academic year and I have watched you grow from giddy first years students to engaged learners. I always miss the familiar and mature faces each September! But ‘school’s out’ and a whole new world is awaiting your entrepreneurial contributions. Go forth and conquer, and best of luck to each and everyone of you. Do keep in touch and when you are in the area please pop in, it is always a pleasure to hear from graduates. All the very best.”
“It was a great pleasure working with you. Best of luck with whatever career path you choose. I am sure you will all join our ever-growing band of very successful graduates.
Please keep in touch as you rise through the world of business. Check on the ‘IADT Entrepreneurship Alumni’ group on Linkedin for opportunities and news. We will always be on the ‘look out’ for great guest lecturers!”
“Best Wishes to the DL823 and DL801 class of 2014-2015. It is great to see how you have matured and progressed since your sophomore year. Hoping that you will maintain the exuberance of 1st and 2nd year and that the foundations of curiosity and exploration for learning that were laid down in those years will benefit you as you graduate and progress through your chosen path in entrepreneurship or management or whatever path you take in life. Wishing you happiness and enjoyment in whatever you do and hoping that the future phases in the development of the mobile Internet and 'Internet of Things' brings you opportunities to show your personal best work to the world.”
“Hark back to your first and second year marketing lectures – you learned about data, information and knowledge in that order.
At that time, do you remember the T.S. Elliot quote? There may be information in the data but where is the knowledge in the information?
We also spoke then about fourth year being about where is the wisdom in the knowledge? - you have now reached that major staging post in your education in your final undergrad year which is summed up as WISDOM.
Back then we defined wisdom is knowing what to overlook and if that doesn’t strike a chord with you for this, your final, year you can always fall back on the Brian O’Driscoll quote, he of rugby fame, Wisdom is not to put a tomato (even though it’s a fruit, not a vegetable) in the fruit salad!!
Best of luck in your careers and feel free to link in with me and keep my Klout score as high as ever!”
“Good luck in the future to a fantastic, particularly hard working group of students. We will miss you. Whatever path you decide to pursue, the transferable skills you have developed through your studies in IADT will stand you in good stead.”
“Well done on your huge achievement of making it through your college years successfully. It was an absolute pleasure to know and teach each of you. I wish you luck in your future careers (yes, you may have more than one) in whatever you may choose. The very best of luck as you launch into a world of opportunity, exciting and challenging times are ahead.”
