2 students from IADT are currently in Johannesburg, South Africa as part of a group of 40 Irish students representing Team Ireland at the Enactus World Cup 2015 from the 14th to the 16th of October. A total of 5,000 students, from 36 countries, will gather at the Sandton Convention Centre for the three day international conference which will see some of the world’s brightest, innovative and entrepreneurial students present their social enterprises to some of the world’s leading business figures with the hope of being crowned the Enactus World Champion. The initiative Enactus encourages social entrepreneurship amongst third level students, motivating students to empower members of the community by applying entrepreneurial action.
Conor Nolan, one of the IADT students travelling has said ‘Loving my time here in Johannesburg! Meeting incredible people from all over the world, students and business leaders alike, and experiencing first hand how Enactus really does make a difference. Can't wait to get working on our project for the coming year.’
Next year’s World Cup will be held in Toronto and the IADT team believe that this experience will provide them with the tools to win the Enactus Ireland National Competition 2016 and represent their college and country on an international stage.
